Message Notes

There are many types of famine. Spiritual famine is when the heart is not willing to receive and obey the word of God, which leads to the lack of answered prayers.

Jesus told us how to be fruitful through all types of famine: 1. continue to be in His presence (meditate upon His words day and night with the intention to carry them out), 2. ask/pray according to His will/words.

As you read your Bible and pray, ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. The pieces will fit together!

John 15:5-8 (CEV) “5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, then you will produce much fruit. Without me, you can’t do anything. 6 If you don’t remain in me, you will be like a branch that is thrown out and dries up. Those branches are gathered up, thrown into a fire, and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified when you produce much fruit and in this way prove that you are my disciples.”

REFLECTION

1. What is required to truly hear and understand the word of God?

2. What are the results of truly hearing and understand the word of God?
