Message Notes

Palm 23:1-3 (NKJV), “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

(1) Goodness:

  • James 1:17-18 (NLT), “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. 18 He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.”

(2) Mercy:

  • Psalm 101:1 (NKJV), “I will sing of mercy and justice;…”

(3) Eternal Life:

  • 1 John 2:25 (NKJV), “And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.”

Responses/Reflections:

  • Say, “You are my Good Shepherd.”

  • Make a commitment to read and memorize Psalm 23 – He provides, He protects and He promises.

  • If you have been running from God, “Stop.” Let His goodness and mercy into your life.
